This disclaimer forms part of our Terms of Service. Read it before you buy, and again before you place a trade.
Foreign exchange, contracts for difference, indices, commodities and other leveraged products are high-risk. They are not savings products, they are not suitable for everyone, and they are not a substitute for income.
You can lose some or all of your capital. With certain products, brokers and market conditions — gaps, weekend moves, news events, slippage past your stop — you can lose more than you deposited unless your broker offers negative balance protection. Whether you have that protection depends on your broker and your country, and it is your job to check.
Across the retail industry, the majority of accounts trading these products lose money. When ESMA analysed the retail CFD market it found that 74–89% of retail accounts lost money, depending on the provider and period. Regulated CFD brokers in the UK and EU must display their own current figure on their own marketing — check your broker's number before you fund an account.
That obligation sits on brokers, not on us; we are not a CFD provider and the figures above are cited to inform you, not because we are required to publish them. Assume you are in the majority, not the exception.
Leverage lets you control a position far larger than your deposit. That cuts both ways, and the losing side arrives faster than most beginners expect. A small adverse move against a large leveraged position can close your account in minutes.
The Candle Trap Method is a description of a chart pattern and a rule set for reading it. It is educational, general and impersonal. It is identical for every purchaser.
It is not: - personal or general financial advice; - a recommendation to trade any instrument, pair or market; - a trading signal service; - a solicitation to buy or sell anything; - an offer of portfolio or account management; - a promise, projection or guarantee of any outcome.
We are not authorised by any financial regulator. We do not know your circumstances and make no attempt to assess whether trading suits them.
Every method — including this one — produces losing trades. A pattern that has appeared reliable in the past can stop working, and market conditions that favoured it can change without warning. Past performance is not indicative of future results. No pattern, rule set, indicator or system removes risk, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling you something worse than this.
Charts, figures and walkthroughs in the Materials are historical or hypothetical, selected to explain the pattern clearly. Hypothetical results carry well-known limitations: they benefit from hindsight, they risk no real money, and they exclude spread, commission, slippage, execution failure, and the psychological pressure of trading a live account through a losing run.
Every order you place is your own decision, in your own account, with your own broker. We are not a party to it, we do not see it, and we have no control over it. We accept no liability for any trading loss.
Trading can become compulsive, and chasing losses is a recognised warning sign. If you find yourself trading to recover money, hiding losses, borrowing to fund a position, or losing sleep over open trades, please step away from the market and talk to someone. Support services for problem gambling and compulsive behaviour exist in most countries and generally cover trading behaviour too. Nothing in this product is worth your health.
